The 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day campaign has already distributed thousands upon thousands of blankets made with our own two hands for people in need around South Africa and several countries around the world. Because Mandela Day is a global initiative, we encourage blankets that are made in a particular country to remain in that country. There are people in dire need all over the world.

We have been overwhelmed by the incredible response we have received to date. This initiative has been embraced by individuals, both locally and abroad, by corporate South Africa, by numerous celebrities and people just like us. Who would have thought that knitting and crocheting would suddenly become so popular? Welcome to the “Knitting Revolution for Nelson Mandela” – the great man we lovingly refer to as “Madiba.”
